Physical activity is defined by the World Health Organization (WHO) as any physiological movement that needs energy expenditure and is performed by skeletal muscles. Physical exercise encompasses all forms of movement, whether it is done for fun, to go to and from locations, or as part of one’s job. Physical activity, both moderate and strenuous, is beneficial to one’s health. Walking, cycling, wheeling, sports, active recreation, and play are all popular activities to be active, and they may be done by anybody of any ability level. Physical exercise has been shown to aid in the prevention and management of noncommunicable illnesses such as heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and a variety of malignancies. It also aids in the prevention of hypertension, the maintenance of a healthy body weight, and the enhancement of mental health, quality of life, and overall well-being. Regular physical exercise, such as walking, cycling, wheeling, participating in sports, or engaging in active recreation, has several health advantages. It is preferable to engage in some physical exercise rather than none at all. People can easily attain the necessary activity levels by getting more active throughout the day in very easy ways. Physical inactivity is a major risk factor for death from noncommunicable illnesses. Insufficiently active persons have a 20 percent to 30 percent higher risk of mortality than those who are appropriately active. Physical inactivity has negative consequences for health care, the environment, economic growth, social well-being, and quality of life. Part of the decline in physical activity can be attributed to inactivity during leisure time as well as sedentary behavior at work and at home. It’s no secret that physical activity is a key component in maintaining a healthy body. Not only does it help in prevention of diseases, but can even improve your overall mood.
